ASTM 3939 Mace Snag Tester YG(B)518DC

【Scope of Application】

This Tester tests the snagging resistance performance of outerwear knitted fabrics, especially synthetic filament and modified yarn fabrics, and other snag-prone textiles.

【Relevant standards】

etc.

The YG (B) 518D Mace Snag Tester is a specialized tool used to measure the sang resistance of various fabrics under a controlled environment. It operates by preparing the fabric sample and placing it over the rotating drum by using rubber bands. These bands keep the target fabric in place. To create real-world snagging conditions, a rotating drum that contains a sharp mace with pins is used to show resistance to the fabric surface.

Key features:

Multiple stations: 4 stations are available for quick and simultaneous testing. This feature provides abrupt and accurate results of testing multiple samples within a short time duration.

Drum rotating speed: The drums rotate at 60 revolutions per minute with a little fluctuation of ±2 rev/min. This characteristic leads to consistent and repeatable test results for evaluating the fabrics’ durability.

Mace: The tester contains a hanging hammer(mace) that weighs 160g with a fluctuation of ±10g. 11 sharp nails are embedded in the mace that interacts with the sample fabric when the drum rotates. These nails create a real-world snagging condition to make more realistic test sampling.

Bilingual language system: This tearing instrument offers a bilingual system, making it the users at easy for testing operations.

User-friendly operation: The tester has a very user-friendly touch screen, allowing easy adjustments and real-time assessment of test parameters.
