The YG (B) 871C Capillary Effect Tester is an advanced fabric instrument used to evaluate the air permeability and water absorption of various fabrics by measuring the rise of liquid through capillary action. This tool is essential where moisture management of a fabric is under consideration.

Fabric samples are vertically hung with their bottom ends immersed in the liquid. By capillary action, the liquid moves upward. The machine then measures the rise of liquid absorption in a specific time duration through a graduated scale. By measuring the liquid rise in different samples simultaneously, the tester gives precise and accurate results of fabric moisture absorption properties.
