How to Extract Fiber Oil-Lab Procedure
In this article, we will demonstrate a lab procedure to extract Fiber Oil using DaRong’s Fiber Oil Extractor YG(B)981D
Power on the instrument by switching on the power.
Press the set button to set the experimental parameters. The right key shifts between values, while the up key adjusts the parameter values. After setting the appropriate temperature and extraction time, press the set button again to return to the main screen.
Start the heating process by pressing the heating button.
Weigh the evaporating dish and record its initial mass. Place it on the heating ring and install the ring cover.
Prepare the samples by weighing four test samples according to the standard, ensuring each has a precise mass. Two samples will be used to determine the oil content, and the other two will be used for water content analysis.
Load the sample by placing the prepared test samples into the oil extraction bucket.
Begin the solvent extraction process once the temperature stabilizes. Add 10 ml of solvent into the system and cover it with the sealing lid. Press the work button to start the extraction process. The oil-solvent mixture will flow slowly into the evaporating dish. When no more liquid flows out, remove the sealing lid, insert the pressure rod, and rotate the arm to allow slow solvent release, pressing until the sample is completely dry.
Remove the pressure rod and reseal the lid until the solvent in the evaporating dish fully evaporates. Measure and record the dish’s final mass.
Repeat the extraction process by adding another 10 ml of solvent, sealing the container, and repeating the steps above until the mass of the evaporating dish reaches a constant weight.
Calculate the oil content using the known water content and standard formulas. Record and analyze the experimental results.
This experiment follows GB/T 6504 Method A – Extraction Method.
