This is a demonstration of the YG(B)026HC.
In this test, we will use ASTM D434 — the Standard Test Method for Slippage Resistance of Yarns in Woven Fabrics Using a Standard Seam.
Turn on the instrument power switch.
Launch the testing software.
Click “Connect”, then go to “File Operations”.
Create a new file, select the testing method, and set test parameters according to the standard and customer requirements, including: number of tests, force range, preload force, fixture type, test speed, compensation load, and slip amount.
After configuration, click “Save” and then “Confirm”.
According to the standard, replace the upper and lower grips with 25×25 mm clamp faces.
Measure the initial grip-to-grip distance, including 15 mm of the clamp face in the measurement.
As this is the actual grip distance, go to System Settings > Clamp Parameters, and input the actual grip spacing.
Click OK > OK > Cancel to return.
Click “Reset”, and the instrument will automatically adjust to the required test grip distance.
Be careful to avoid collision between the upper and lower grips during adjustment.
Click “Tare” to zero the system.
Prepare the test specimens: cut to 100 x 350 mm, with 5 warp and 5 weft samples.
According to the standard, fold each specimen 100 mm from the short edge.
Sew the specimen 13 mm from the fold line, then cut along the fold.
For sample installation, first clamp the unsewn portion of the specimen.
Ensure the fabric surface is flat and wrinkle-free.
Click “Start” to begin testing the non-sewn specimen.
After completing the first test, fix the sewn portion of the specimen in the grips.
Ensure the seam is positioned in the center between the upper and lower grips.
Click “Start” to begin stretching the seamed specimen.
After seam testing is complete, the software will automatically calculate the test result based on the two force-displacement curves.
Repeat the same steps for the remaining specimens.
When all tests are finished, go to File Operations > Report > Export to generate and save the test results.
